For 2010, the Buick Allure is renamed the Buick LaCrosse, a name that was always used for the model in the U.S.
Completely redesigned, the 2010 LaCrosse becomes a luxury sedan, with numerous new safety and technology features, available all-wheel drive, and a choice of two V6 engines. Designed collaboratively between designers in the U.S. and China, and with chassis and body engineers in Europe, it is the first General Motors vehicle to be created on three continents. Production moves from Ontario to Kansas.
The LaCrosse uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder in the CX. A new 3.0-litre direct-injection V6 is optional in the CX and standard in the CXL trim line, while the CXS uses a 3.6-litre direct-injection V6. All use a six-speed automatic transmission. The CXL can also be optioned with all-wheel drive, which uses an electronic limited-slip differential for enhanced control on slippery roads.
Features on the CX include 17-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, heated mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, cargo net, cruise control, floor mats, driver information centre, tire pressure monitoring system, OnStar, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, illuminated vanity mirrors, garage door opener, auto up/down front windows, express-down rear windows, cloth seats with eight-way power driver’s adjustment, rear seat pass-through, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry, and automatic headlamps.
The CXL adds 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lamps, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals and puddle lamps, auto-dimming rearview mirror, driver’s power lumbar adjuster, eight-way power passenger seat, magnetic variable-effort steering, and remote starter.
The CXL AWD adds 18-inch alloy wheels.
The CXS adds 18-inch chrome-plated alloy wheels, auto-dimming driver’s side exterior mirror, 120-volt household power outlet, heated leather-wrapped and wood steering wheel, power rear sunshade, perforated heated and ventilated leather seats, driver’s side memory, premium Harman/Kardon surround sound system, iPod interface, bright exhaust tips, keyless ignition, and rear parking assist.
